OCR: Offline Optical Character Recognition for English Characters Only
OCR is an Android app developed by Sunbul M H that serves as an offline Optical Character Recognition (OCR) application specifically for English characters. The app allows users to process images either captured by the camera or opened from the Gallery.
When capturing an image, the app utilizes the Camera application to take the picture. Afterward, the Photo Editor crops the image to the desired area. The OCR functionality then recognizes the text within the image, which is subsequently copied to the Clipboard and displayed in a text field for editing.
Similarly, when an existing image is opened from the Gallery, the OCR functionality extracts the text and displays it in the text field for editing.
Additionally, OCR can be launched by other apps to obtain the recognition result. In such cases, the recognized text is returned to the launching app, and OCR automatically closes.
It's worth noting that this application utilizes the tess-two library for its OCR functionality. However, it is important to mention that some devices, especially those with limited RAM, may experience crashes during the image processing phase.
